Wragge & Co wins 'best trainer' title at Training and Recruitment Awards

10.06.11

Wragge & Co has won the best trainer award in the national/large regional firm category at LawCareers.Net's Training and Recruitment Awards.

Chosen following a survey of more than 2,500 trainees from three annual intakes, Wragge & Co was commended for providing trainees with "lots of responsibility" and encouraging "additional training opportunities". The firm won the award from a shortlist comprising Browne Jacobson, Burges Salmon, Clarke Willmott, Cobbetts, Irwin Mitchell and Shoosmiths.

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: "We are committed to providing comprehensive training in a supportive environment, which gives our trainees as much client contact and responsibility as they want. We see this as the best way to develop technically excellent and commercially focused solicitors. This award is a great result for the firm."

A research tool for future lawyers, LawCareers.Net is published in association with the Law Society and the Bar Council. Containing features and advice, its directories list more than 1,250 recruiters of trainee solicitors and barristers and nearly 100 providers of undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. The LawCareers.Net Training and Recruitment Awards are designed to recognise the best trainers and recruiters among law firms.

This latest award win follows the firm's 11th consecutive appearance in the UK's 50 Best Workplaces list and a national Big Tick accreditation at Business in the Community's Awards for Excellence 2011, for its work with homeless people. In the last month, the firm was also crowned Legal Adviser of the Year at the 2011 Health Investor Awards and Pensions Law Firm winner for the second year running at the Pension & Investor Provider Awards.

Wragge & Co is a UK-headquartered international law firm providing a full range of services to clients worldwide. The firm's 1,000 people, including 124 partners, operate from offices in Birmingham, Guangzhou, London and Munich, plus affiliated offices in Abu Dhabi and Paris.
