Wragge & Co in top five for innovation

Wragge & Co has been named one of the world's most innovative law firms in a Financial Times report. The firm is ranked in the top five in the FT's annual list of the 50 most innovative law firms.

The international law firm also won an award at the FT Innovative Lawyers awards. Wragge & Co's ground-breaking work for the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi, involving building a healthcare regime from scratch, was crowned winner of the 'Regulation and Risk Management' category.

A top five ranking in this prestigious survey highlights the creative thinking we bring to the range of cutting-edge, ground-breaking projects we are involved in."

The firm features in five categories: corporate law, risk and regulation, climate change and sustainability, fraud regulation and client service. Commercial partner David Lowe was also shortlisted for the Legal Innovator of the Year award in recognition of his innovative work with clients including Birds Eye and Transport for London.

Stand-out

Corporate - the Commercial team is ranked 'stand-out' for its work to secure Birds Eye's frozen food business in Europe.

Risk and Regulation - the firm's healthcare specialists are ranked 'stand-out' for the Abu Dhabi healthcare work.

Highly commended

Risk and Regulation - Wragge & Co is highly commended for its work with Central Networks to enable collaboration in the UK electricity sector.

Commended

Climate Change and Sustainability - the firm is commended for helping Partnerships for Renewables create a flexible framework to develop public land for sustainable energy generation.

Fraud regulation - Wragge & Co is commended for combining the interests of seven finance companies and the Serious Organised Crime Agency, involving collaboration under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Client Service - the firm is commended for its In-House mind map to help General Counsel to plan and prioritise.

Wragge & Co ranked fifth in the report. The top five are: Eversheds, Freshfields, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance and Wragge & Co. The FT received more than 600 submissions this year, each one assessed for its originality, rationale and impact by RSG Consulting, the FT's research partner.
