Wragge & Co LLP has appointed four new directors, strengthening core practice areas and preparing for further growth. According to senior partner Quentin Poole, the promotions underline Wragge & Co's commitment to investing in high-calibre individuals with the drive and ambition to take the firm forward.
The new directors represent a mix of core and key growth practice areas. They are Verity Chase (commercial and outsourcing), Jacqueline Knox (social housing), Robin Pearson (real estate finance) and Alison Rivers (property litigation). Effective from 1 July 2009, the promotions take the total number of directors to 29.
Quentin Poole said: "Each of these high-performing new directors has a track record for building strong client relationships, delivering excellent client service and winning high-value and high-profile work. They have the technical abilities and commercial understanding we need to maximise opportunities for growth over the next few years."
Introduced in 2005, the director role recognises associates who have an exceptional level of experience and skill, and are making an outstanding contribution to the business. Responsibilities can include managing client relationships, business development or leading a particular practice area.
This year, Wragge & Co appointed regulatory litigation expert Andrew Litchfield and corporate recovery specialist Vicki Conway to the partnership.
Other highlights include being named Employment Team of the Year at the Lawyer Awards 2009 and securing runner-up position in the TMT Team of the Year category. The firm is also Legal Technology Journal's most client-focused UK law firm and Managing Intellectual Property magazine's European High-Tech Law Firm of the Year.
