Wragge & Co wins big tick for eco-efficiency

Wragge & Co LLP has won a Business in the Community Big Tick award for its commitment to the environment.

The firm joins 3M UK PLC Aycliffe Plant, Adnams, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Nestlé UK, Sainsbury's, United Utilities and Wates in receiving the Lafarge Eco-Efficiency Award, one of Business in the Community's annual Awards for Excellence. This award recognises companies taking a strategic, comprehensive and innovative approach to reducing natural resource use and waste.

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: "This is a superb achievement which rewards the effort we are putting in to making Wragge & Co a more sustainable business. The environmental mantra of 'reduce, reuse and recycle' is embedded in the way we operate, from reducing consumption of energy, paper and materials to new recycling stations across the business."

Awards for Excellence identify and celebrate companies which have a positive impact on the community, environment, marketplace and workplace. They are decided by an independent panel of experts.

Wragge & Co is a top 25 UK commercial law firm advising international blue-chip companies and major public sector organisations on a full range of legal issues. The firm uses energy from renewable sources and recycled stocks of paper and other stationery. It bottles its own water, re-using bottles and eliminating the emissions from delivering bottled water. Plastic, glass, tins, paper, toner, batteries, mobile phones are all recycled.

Business in the Community is a charity that mobilises business for good. With more than 850 members, it represents one in five of the UK private sector workforce.
