Wragge & Co LLP Pensions team has been appointed to advise the trustees of two Admenta UK plc pension schemes. Admenta Pension Trustees Limited and AAH Lloyds Pension Trustees Limited have chosen Wragge & Co as their sole pensions law advisers.

Admenta UK plc group owns Lloyds Pharmacy Limited and AAH Pharmaceuticals Limited. The Admenta Pension Scheme is a defined benefits scheme with assets of around £180 million and the AAH Lloyds Pension Scheme is a defined contribution scheme with assets of circa £75 million.

Partner Richard Black and associate Michael Collins led the team pitching for the work. They will work alongside the trustees and their other advisers, advising on a full range of pensions law issues.

Richard Black said: "We are delighted to have won the appointment and look forward to a long and successful relationship with the trustees. What marks out our pensions experts is our desire to form relationships with our clients, understand their business and provide the highest level of client service. This latest win is an opportunity for us to demonstrate this for a leading international healthcare group."

Peter Smerdon, Chairman of both trustee boards, said: "The Wragge & Co team has already shown its commitment to building a relationship with the trustees and other advisers, and we look forward to a successful partnership."

The win follows a succession of appointments for the team. In the past six months the team won lead roles advising the trustees of Group 4 Securicor Pension Scheme and the trustees of the Ashridge Business School Pension Scheme.

The Admenta UK plc group is owned by Celesio, a German listed company. In 2006 Celesio generated 21.6 billion euros revenue. Celesio operates in 16 countries and more than 37,000 people work within the group. The three business divisions wholesale, pharmacies and solutions cover the full supply chain of pharmaceutical distribution and services.

Wragge & Co's six-partner pensions practice operates as a single team of experts advising employers, trustees and institutional clients on a full range of non-contentious and contentious pensions issues. The national team is widely recognised as one of the UK's top-tier pensions practices, winning last year's law provider category at the FT Business Pension and Investment Provider Awards.
