Wragge & Co advises Castlemore Securities on £73 million Temple Quay Central site redevelopment

23.01.08

Wragge & Co LLP's Construction specialists have acted for Castlemore Securities on the £73 million Temple Quay Central site redevelopment. A team led by associate Stephen Williams advised on the procurement and negotiation of building contracts and professional appointments and other associated construction documentation relating to the Bristol development.

Six separate building contracts have been entered into for the design and construction of high-quality commercial offices fronting the River Avon. A 12-storey residential tower, retail units and a new public footbridge are also to be built, together with the installation of public artwork, infrastructure and roadworks. The development is 70% prelet and is due for completion early in 2010.

Wragge & Co associate Stephen Williams, solicitor Sophie Ellis and paralegal Shah Begum worked closely with the team at Castlemore Securities headed by construction project manager Majella Lynch.

Stephen Williams said: "We have worked closely with Castlemore since the beginning of its involvement in the re-development of this historic area of Bristol. This latest phase of the regeneration is seen as an important catalyst for the development of the remaining area to the north of the River Avon. Our experts worked as one team with Castlemore Securities to devise the procurement strategy and to manage the complex matrix of interrelated building contracts, professional appointments and negotiations, ensuring that everything was in place for the construction phase to commence."
