23.04.07
Wragge & Co LLP's Pensions Team has underlined its commitment to growth in London with a new appointment. Sacker & Partners LLP partner Jane Kola is to join Wragge & Co's 32-lawyer Pensions Team as a director from August 2007. This latest hire follows the promotion of Paul Feathers as the team's sixth partner.
Head of pensions Glyn Ryland said: "Jane is a high-calibre lawyer who has a strong track record of creating good, long-term client relationships. Her enthusiasm, experience and focus on excellence match our own, and I'm very pleased she has agreed to join us. With Jane and Paul adding senior firepower in London, the full force of our specialist team can be delivered consistently and easily to any part of the UK."
Jane Kola said: "Over the past few years, Wragge & Co's pensions practice has made a huge impact on the market. It has a fantastic, and growing, client base, a reputation for cutting-edge, creative advice and a large team of lawyers dedicated to providing a high-quality service. This is an exciting opportunity for me to use my experience, contacts and knowledge and be part of a team hungry for more success."
A highly regarded non-contentious expert, Jane is experienced in the full range of pension law issues, including investment agreements, money purchase schemes, administrative outsourcing deals, IMAs and hedge fund documents. She joined Sacker & Partners in 1996, becoming a partner in 2001.
At Sacker & Partners, Jane headed the Schemes in Transition Unit, assisting clients to address changes to pension provision. This experience compliments the work of Wragge & Co's Combined HR Solutions Team, a team comprising employment and pensions experts, tailored to meet the changing HR requirements of the 21st century organisation.
Wragge & Co's 32-lawyer pensions practice operates as a single team of experts from offices in London and Birmingham, advising employers, trustees and institutional clients on a full range of non-contentious and contentious pensions issues. New clients won over the past 12 months include the trustees of AMEC's £1 billion plus pension schemes and Britannia Building Society Pension Scheme's trustees.
With other clients including the Rolls-Royce Pension Fund, EMAP, Philips Pensions Trustees Limited, Resolution Group Pensions Scheme and Steria, the team is widely recognised as one of the UK's top-tier pensions practices. As of 1 May 2007, the team's six partners are Glyn Ryland, Richard Black, Vivien Cockerill, Peter Shave, Jason Coates and Paul Feathers.
