Property litigation

Described as a 'young, proactive and commercial team' by Chambers UK, the ten-strong property litigation team led by Anne Waltham enjoys the support of its former head, Suzanne Lloyd Holt.

The team operates from within the real estate practice while working alongside litigation colleagues in construction, planning, health and safety, insurance and environmental. Typical work includes advising on contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, property-related insolvency and professional negligence, disputes over joint venture agreements and issues affecting development sites. Supporting its reputation for being commercially minded, the team will also advise on risk management and dispute avoidance.

Legal 500 gives the team a joint second ranking in its London property litigation table. Described as a 'Birmingham-based practice, long been considered the leading practice outside London', the team's appointment for real estate litigation work to the John Lewis panel 'has already had a warm welcome from City clients'.

Clients include Argent, B&Q, British Airways, Financial Times, Castlepoint LP, LaSalle Investment Management. In the follow-up to one assignment, E.ON UK plc described how the team 'displayed a tremendous effort in what proved to be a very slick and efficient legal operation'.

Wragge & Co's Real Estate Litigation team is a member of the Property Litigation Assocation. Anne Waltham is a member of the Anglo-American Real Property Institute and Arbrix, a forum for members to discuss problems and experience relating to arbitrations and dispute resolution.
