Best brains in ...

I am well known for having strong technical skills and a calm pragmatic approach. Throughout the last ten years I have helped advise Government and Bidders on structuring complex, innovative PFI/PPPs. Of course, many PFI's are now standardised but there is still a lot of cutting edge project work around and I believe that this is where I excel.

Highlight of your career so far?

Seeing our relationship with the MoD develop from acting on a £3.5 million project at RAF Lyneham to acting on the CVF Aircraft Carrier Project and beyond. I think this is something Wragge & Co excels at as a relationship firm and I am really proud to have worked with MoD over the years.

Most challenging job you've ever done?

Most recently hitting a very tight deadline on the Shropshire Waste Project. We closed on 1 October following Preferred Bidder appointment in August. The great thing though about Wragge & Co is the support you get from those around you. On this particular project, I had lawyers and secretaries queuing up to help. They knew it was really important to the client to hit the time scale and they wanted to do everything they could to achieve. It makes your job so much easier when you know that you have that support around you.

What about outside the UK?

My focus is primarily UK but I have done quite a bit of work for international bidders on UK projects over the years, as well as corporate and banking work with an international focus.

How do you get under the skin of a client's business and when have you done it?

I believe secondments are a fantastic way of getting to know clients and I did one a few years ago at the MoD Private Finance Unit that really enabled me to understand how MoD tick and how we should deliver services to them.

What's your single greatest contribution to Wragge & Co's corporate responsibility?

Walking 27 miles over the Black Mountains for St Basil's! Seriously, I love walking and St Basil's is a great Birmingham-based charity working with the young homeless. It was great when some of my team came along for the day and helped raise money for it.

What's been written or said about you that you're most proud of?

"Seeks to create opportunities and enable people to develop and succeed. Highly focused and committed to client management and excellent service delivery." (Performance Appraisal, 2007/08).
