As general counsel I have overall responsibility for strategic risk management issues. Previously I've been a partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution group, including a spell as group leader, managing partner for the London office and an elected member of the firm's Management Committee.

Highlight of my career and the most challenging work I ever did

Acting for a significant number of farmers in two multi-million pound group actions relating to the loss of milk quotas. This took up a huge amount of my time over a period of six years.

What about outside the UK?

I am head of the firm's international desk which is responsible for our relationships with lawyers and clients in northern Europe - Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland. I regularly travel throughout the area and manage the relationships with a number of clients in the region.

What's your contribution to Wragge & Co's corporate responsibility?

Trecking in the Atlas Mountains with colleagues to raise money for Sense in very hot weather! I have also been involved in the development of the firm's pro bono activities. I am also a non-executive director/trustee of Tomorrow's Company, a non-profit making think-tank which focuses on the role of business and the relationship between business and society.

What's been written or said about you that you're most proud of?

That I made a material contribution to the rapid and successful development of our Waterhouse Square office while I was London managing partner.
