10.03.08
Wragge & Co LLP Intellectual Property (IP) team has been ranked in the top tier for contentious trade mark work in Managing Intellectual Property's global survey.
Gordon Harris, head of the IP team, said: "This is fantastic news. To be recognised as one of the best IP teams in the UK for trade mark work is a great achievement, particularly as the results are based on recommendations by our clients and peers. It has been a successful year for the team, with a number of high-profile wins in the Court of Appeal. This top-tier ranking is a great reward for the team's hard work."
MIP is a monthly publication dedicated to the intellectual property market. Its annual global survey ranks IP firms following research and a ballot of IP professionals and practitioners worldwide. In 2007, the team was also named as Managing IP's UK law firm of the year.
Wragge & Co's IP team is one of the largest dedicated IP practices in the UK. Its 41 specialist lawyers advise UK and international blue chip clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious issues. With particular focus on sectors including life sciences, financial services, technology, franchising and brands, its client list includes Birds Eye, United Biscuits, Dyson and British Airways. This year, the team triumphed in the Court of Appeal for Cinpres in the longest-running patent entitlement dispute in the history of the English patents courts.
