Wragge & Co named IP law firm of the year
30.03.07
Wragge & Co LLP's Intellectual Property (IP) Team has been named law firm of the year by Managing Intellectual Property.
The ten-partner team saw off competition from Bird & Bird, Bristows, Freshfields, Lovells, Simmons & Simmons and Taylor Wessing to seal its reputation as one of the UK's leading intellectual property practices. IP partners Gordon Harris and David Barron collected the award at a ceremony held at Claridges on 28 March 2007.
Gordon Harris said: "It is a fantastic achievement for Wragge & Co to be recognised as the best IP firm in the UK, particularly as the award is voted for by our clients and peers. I'm very proud of the team and the work everyone has put in to ensuring we stand out from the crowd."
"Intellectual property is a specialist discipline requiring the finest legal ability. Our team includes technically excellent lawyers with something extra – genuine commercial understanding of the context in which our clients work."
MIP is a monthly publication dedicated to the intellectual property market. Its annual awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of the leading law firms in the IP field. The winners were chosen following research and a ballot of IP professionals conducted as part of MIP's annual World IP Survey, published in its February and March issues.
Wragge & Co's IP Team advises UK and international blue chip clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious issues. Its 36 lawyers include specialists in UK and EU law with particular sectors of expertise including life sciences, financial services, technology, engineering, manufacturing, franchising and brands. Highlights from the past 12 months include advising Dyson on its Court of Appeal victory against Qualtex.
