Department of Health publishes key guidance documents for commissioners

In May 2008, the Department of Health published the PCT Procurement Guide and Framework for Managing Choice, Cooperation and Competition. These guidance documents build on the Principles and Rules for Cooperation and Competition which was issued with the Operating Framework for 2008/09. They represent the latest step in the evolution of a set of principles applicable to competition and procurement within the NHS.
