Britannia trustees latest to choose Wragge & Co Pensions Team
02.05.07
A team led by partners Richard Black and Vivien Cockerill has secured an initial three-year role advising the Britannia trustees on a full range of pensions issues. The team, which includes associate Michael Collins and solicitor Liz Wood, will work closely with Group Pensions Manager, John Rogers. They will also advise Britannia Building Society where appropriate.
Richard Black said: "We have had a great start to 2007, winning a number of prestigious new clients and endorsing our reputation as one of the UK's leading pensions practices. Our lawyers are technically excellent, commercially astute and dedicated to providing the best pensions law service. This approach is impressing clients, and we're very pleased to be working with Britannia."
John Rogers said: "The trustees conducted a thorough review of potential legal advisers. We were particularly impressed with the experience and teamwork of Wragge & Co."
Headquartered in Staffordshire, Britannia is the UK's second-largest building society. The Britannia pension scheme has 7,300 members and assets of £365 million.
It is the team's second new client in quick succession. Earlier this year, the trustees of AMEC's £1 billion plus pension schemes appointed Wragge & Co as full service pensions law advisers.
Wragge & Co's five-partner pensions practice operates as a single team of experts from offices in Birmingham and London, advising employers, trustees and institutional clients on a full range of non-contentious and contentious pensions issues. The national team is widely recognised as one of the UK's top-tier pensions practices. Its clients include the Rolls Royce Pension Fund, EMAP, Philips Pensions Trustees Limited and Steria.
