Changes to the adjudication and payment provisions: draft Construction Contracts Bill
07.08.08
The consultation process for improving payment practices in the construction industry continues. Last month, the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) published a draft Construction Contracts Bill to amend Part 2 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
The Bill seeks to make amendments to the adjudication and payment provisions contained in the Act. If brought into force, changes will have to be made to all construction contracts to ensure compliance.
Wragge & Co's construction experts explain the proposed changes.
