Consultation on supermarket regulator
03.03.10
The Groceries (Supply Chain Practices) Market Investigation Order 2009 came into effect on 4 February 2010. The Order requires certain supermarkets to have written terms with the majority of their suppliers of goods for resale in place. Many of these terms are now prescribed by legislation.
The UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has now opened a consultation on matters related to enforcement of the Groceries Supply Code of Practice. This consultation runs until 30 April 2010.
What will the consultation cover? What do you need to do to ensure your concerns or suggestions are heard? Wragge & Co's commercial and competition, food and drink sector contract specialists have prepared an expert analysis on the latest issues.
More information on the impact of the Order and practical actions to consider can be found in a previous analysis prepared by the firm's commercial experts.
