Employment Law Update '08

Event Date - 02.10.08

Back to School

You trust us to tell you what's new in employment law and explain how it could affect you. You might think, without any major new primary legislation this year, you'd have time to catch your breath. However, one look at the headlines tells you otherwise: can a Christian registrar be made to carry out civil partnerships?; Facebook eating up productivity?; new rights for carers, new headaches for employers?; pensioners on the warpath?

We pride ourselves on answering the questions you have and the questions you didn't know you had! As with last year, we'll build the whole morning around your questions. You'll get your answers, but also hear real-time explanation and discussion of what's happening in all sorts of different workplaces. And remember you can ask a question on anything else vaguely employment law related and we'll pick it up in 'the Wrap'.

You'll be prompted to submit your questions when you register your attendance below. Please base them around the four subjects we're covering: religion and belief v sexual orientation; managing employees' use of social networking sites; associative discrimination and family-friendly rights; pensions compliance and benefit provision beyond normal retirement age.

You don't have to ask questions on all topics but the more you ask, the more you're likely to get out of it. We'll plan our sessions, as far as we can, around the questions we receive.

Sample questions

You might want to talk about how you currently deal with things in your organisations and what needs updating or you may have a direct question to ask, either way, we are here to answer, debate and discuss.
